Consider Yourself Blessed When in Need

II Corinthians 12:9 - But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

James 1:2-3 - Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.

Dear God, thank You for perfecting Your power in and me despite of my weakness. In my time of need, I am forced to choose reliance on You or trying to make things happen on my own. Trying to make things happen on my own doesn't always work, so I will choose to rely on You. While others consider autism a weakness, I will consider it a strength because YOU work through me in spite of my autism. While being medically fragile can be considered a weakness, it is a strength when YOU work through me. So I will thank You for my weaknesses knowing that whatever I lack, You will work through me regardless and fill the need accordingly. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Let God Teach You Thankfulness

Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.

Hebrews 12:28-29 - Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

Dear God, thankfulness. Not necessarily the easiest attitude, but yet so simple to do. I am thankful each day I have the chance to wake up and have a new day. I am thankful for new opportunities to make a difference or to help someone. I am thankful for new breaths. I am thankful for new things to do. Today, I am thankful that we have a vet who cares about our furbabies. I am anxious about taking baby girl in. But she has a bump on her head. But I am thankful she will get quality care. Be with me today. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Choices about the Day

Psalm 34:8 - Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Lamentations 3:22-26 - The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him." The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Dear God, forgive me for being tempted to draw a mental map of my day. Help me lean more on Your presence and rest in that. Thank You for equipping me for what my day holds. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Come to God

Isaiah 40:29-31 - He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint.

John 17:20-23 - "I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me."

Dear God, I come to You wih empty hands held out expecting Your blessings and provisions. Thank You for caring about me and my family. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Welcome Problems

Psalm 89:15-16 - Blessed are the people who know the festal shout, who walk, O Lord, in the light of your face, who exult in your name all the day and in your righteousness are exalted.

II Corinthians 4:16-18 - So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Dear God, help me to remember that most of the problems life throws at me are just momentary afflictions in the grand scheme of life altogether. I still pray that one day Tom and I can have a reconciliation where the whole truth is revealed to both of us. But the conflict really is pale in comparison to what the future holds. How do I handle things going forward? Do I lash out at the problems or do I trust You? Thank You for lessons in life. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Make God Your Focal Point

Psalm 102:26-27 - They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end.

Hebrews 12:1-2 - Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of throne of God.

Dear God, focal point. You are a focal point in my busy life. Like a ballerina or tap dancer who has to fix their eyes on a focal point so they do not get dizzy from their twists and turns, I need to keep my focus on You so I don't get dizzy when my circumstances try to make me dizzy and confused. Thank You for training me in Your ways and teaching me how to have more balance in my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Rest in the Stillness of the Presence of God

Psalm 46:10 - "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"

Romans 8:1 - There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Dear God, thank You for being with me. Thank You for working on strengthening my trust. Thank You for giving me moments where I have to choose to trust You. Help me to not get so wrapped around planning everything that I forget to trust You and end up being afraid. Thank You for not condemning me when I do. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Keep Your Eyes on God

Psalm 16:11 - You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 141:8 - But my eyes are toward you, O God, my Lord; in you I seek refuge; leave me not defenseless!

Dear God, help me learn when to say no and when to say yes. I do not need to do everything for everyone all the time. But what I do commit to doing, I need to do well and do my best with. Help me stay focused on You. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Listen to God Continually

Proverbs 19:21 - Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

John 8:36 - "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

John 10:27 - "My sheep hear my voice, and it know them, and they follow me."

Dear God, I didn't set out to have an interview this week, but I did end up with one at last hour basically. I do not know whether I will get the job, and is very well might not. I know there are bound to be better qualified applicants and I am still learning a lot. But the interview is good practice either way. Take hold of my thoughts as I listen to Your voice and lean on You during this time. Work out Your plan for me in this and continue to make sure my family has the provisions it needs. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Let God Control Your Mind

Genesis 1:26-27 - The God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Romans 8:6 - To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

Dear God, help me as I learn to take captive every thought and to release it to You so You can control my mind the way it needs to be. My mind is one of those that never rests. Please take control of it so I can rest. Thank You for creating me with the ability to think and to reason. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Do Not Be Afraid for God Is with You

Deuteronomy 31:6 - "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."

Psalm 46:2-3 -  Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.

Psalm 73:23-24 - Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory.

Mark 4:39 - And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Dear God, help me to never fall into the mean world syndrome that the media causes. While the news may focus on the negatives, You look at the positives and I need to trust You that the world has positives somewhere. I am not to be afraid because You are with me. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

God Loves You Regardless of How Well You Perform

Psalm 31:16 - Make your face shine on your servant; save me in your steadfast love!

Psalm 107:8 - Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of men!

Isaiah 61:10 - I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Jeremiah 31:2-3 - Thus says the Lord: "The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest, the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.

Dear God, thank You for an unfailing love that does not depend on my performance. My performance at times is not my best. Or so I think. But that doesn't matter to You at all. Thank You for unfailing and unconditional love. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Peace is a Continual Gift From God

Exodus 16:15-16 - When the people of Israel saw it, they said to one another, "What is it?" For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, "It is the bread that the Lord has given you to eat. This is what the Lord has commanded: 'Gather of it, each one of you, as much as he can eat. You shall each take an omer, according to the number of the persons that each of you has in his tent.'"

Exodus 16:19 - And Moses said to them, "Let no one leave any of it over till the morning."

Philippians 4:5-7 - Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 4:16 - Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Dear God, I appreciate the moment by moment peace, but right now I need peace for my anxious thoughts. Everything that could go wrong seems to have gone wrong and the day has just begun. And I am worried about Katie cat. She has a painful bump on her head and the vet does want to see her to evaluate it. She may need it surgically removed and we have to hope that it is benign and not cancerous. I am worried. Between Molly Jean getting old and Katie, I feel like my world would be at a standstill if something happened to one of them. Also my mom. They are all I have now. What would happen to me if something happened to my mom? This is a growing concern on our household due to my autism and the lack of services in my community at large. Calm my fears. Bring some people out that know exactly how to implement programs for special needs adults. And grant me peace today for all the anxious thoughts that I have right now in this moment. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

God is Training You in Steadiness

Psalm 112:7 - He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.

Isaiah 41:10 - ...fear not, for it am with you; be not dismayed, for it am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Dear God, help me as I grow in my trust in You. Help me to remain steady in my faith so that I will not be shaken or moved by anything that is outside of Your plan. Thank You for living in me and working through me. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

God Is Calling You to a Life of Thanksgiving

Isaiah 6:3 - And one called to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!"

II Corinthians 5:6-7 - So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.

I Thessalonians 5:18 - ...give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Dear God, thank You. Thank You for the doctors who take such good care of me when I am sick. Thank You for the people that help the doctors to take care of me. Thank You for the pharmacists who put my medicines together. Thank You for the scientists who created those medicines. Thank You for the people at the stores where I get food and medicine. Thank You for the people who serve our needs. If Your will is for the minimum wage to go up, then let it be so. Many people are fighting for the living wage now. Everyone from food service to college professors to healthcare workers. Many others speak hatefully and arrogantly against them. Of course, the ones who are doing that must not have challenging enough jobs since they have time to be on Facebook downing them. God, I am fighting some kind of infection right now. The medicine feels horrible and clogs my nose. It feels slimy. Please help it do its job though and help me feel better so I won't feel like the air burns when I breathe anymore. Thank You that it wasn't a heart infection which would have been very bad. My oncologist felt comfortable enough to allow me three months between visits with infusions continuing in between. I will get my iron level next week when I get my infusion. Please help it stay at whatever level it now is. Thank You. For everything. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Trust God and Do Not Be Afraid

Psalm 61:1-4 - Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.

Isaiah 12:2 - "Behild, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."

II Corinthians 3:18 - And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Dear God, it is hard not to be afraid. Well, maybe not so much afraid as anxious and troubled. I live in a country where we have a political party that claims to be Christian yet is all too eager to deny people healthcare, food, shelter, and other basic needs because those people are not rich or they are disabled or old. They have caused many people to hate Christians in general because they hear these people claim to be Christians yet do hateful things. But, God, I want to keep trusting and believing You. I know that as long I am provided for that You are at work. So I am going to trust that Your provision will be constant. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Heaven Is Both Present and Future

I Corinthians 15:20-23 - But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.

Hebrews 6:19-20 - We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Dear God, I love the tastes of heaven I get in the now. But they are just that--tastes. I long for when those tastes are fulfilled in the future. Thank You for a little taste of heaven on eath and thank You for teaching me to see those tastes. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Stay Where You Are

Psalm 105:4 - Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!

John 15:5 - "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."

Colossians 3:23-24 - Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

Dear God, as I fall into routine, help me to remember to stay focused upon You. It may be difficult and boring, but the routines may also be what grows me the easiest. Thank You that. You have a plan for me even when I am feeling the boredom of life. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Trusting God: A Moment-By-Moment Choice

Exodus 15:22-26 - Then Moses made Israel set out from the Red Sea, and they went into the wilderness of Shur. They went three days in the wilderness and found no water. When they came to Marah, they could not drink the water of Marah because it was bitter; therefore it was named Marah. And the people grumbled against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?" And he cried to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a log, and he threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. There the Lord made for them a statute and a rule, and there he tested them, saying, "If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer."

Psalm 31:14 - But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, "You are my God."

Dear God, when I am faced with hard times and am uncertain of You, please help me to remember that You are still there and grow my trust in You. As hard as it may be to trust You when times are challenging, it is far better than to lose sight and fall. Thank You for always being there even when I feel alone. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

This Is the Day That God Has Made

Psalm 118:24 - This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Philippians 3:13-14 - Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Dear God, help me to focus only in today and what today may bring. We are off to a beautiful start. The day is pretty. Hopefully not too hot though. But even if it is hot, thank You for ways to cool off in air conditioned cars and buildings. Thank You for allowing people to have the smarts to invent the air conditioning. Thank You, God, for being with me today. Help me as I face the day. Lead me in Your presence throughout the day. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Trust God in Every Detail of Your Life

Psalm 40:2 - He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

Jeremiah 17:7 - "Blessed is the man who trust in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord."

Romans 8:28 - And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

I Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Dear God, thank You for drawing me up out of the miry bog and setting my feet upon the rock so I can stand. Thank You for working things together for my good even when I may not understand what. You are doing. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Your Love Never Fails by Newsboys (YouTube)

Nothing can separate
Even if I run away
Your love never fails
I know I still make mistakes
You have new mercy for me every day
'Cause Your love never fails

You stay the same through the ages
Your love never changes
There may pain in the night
But joy comes in the morning

The wind is strong and the water's deep
I'm not alone here in these open seas
'Cause Your love never fails
The chasm is far too wide
I never though I'd reach the other side
But Your live never fails

You stay the same through the ages
Your love never changes
There may be pain in the night
But joy comes in the morning

And when the oceans rage
I don't have to be afraid
Because I know that You love me
Your love never fails

You make all things work together for my good
You make all things work together for my good

You stay the same through the ages
Your love never changes
There may be pain in the night
But joy comes in the morning

And when the oceans rage
I don't have to be afraid
Because I know that You live me
Your live never fails

Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, oh oh
'Cause your love never fails

Nothing Can Separate You from the Love of God

Exodus 33:14 - And he said, "My presence will go with you, and if will give you rest."

Romans 8:38-39 - For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us form the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Dear God, help me to stay on track in the practice of focusing on Your presence rather than my problems. I would rather be comfortable in Your presence than uncomfortable in the worries about my problems. Continue to guide me. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

God Is with You and for You

Genesis 28:15 - "Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you."

Romans 8:31 - What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Dear God, forgive me when I stray and forget about Your presence in my life. Sometimes it does feel like You are far away, especially when I see so many who disparage the poor and the disabled with their remarks. Other times, I feel You all the time. Thank You for always being there. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

God Is the Potter and We Are the Clay

Psalm 27:8 - You have said, "Seek my face." My heart says to you, "Your face, Lord, I do seek."

Isaiah 64:8 - But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Dear God, thank You for being the potter constantly shaping and forming me into the person You want me to be. As I face some more turbulent times, teach me and continue to mold me. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Bring God the Sacrifice of Thanksgiving

Genesis 3:2-4 - And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, 'You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.'" But the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die."

Psalm 116:17 - I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord.

I John 1:7 - But do we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with I one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Dear God, thank You for the small things as well as the big things. Thank You for the tiny dewdrop on the rose petal. Thank You for the whisker on the cat or the spot on the dog. Thank You for salvation. Thank You for giving me another day and another opportunity to live with and for You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Let God Fill You

Isaiah 30:15 - For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, "In retuning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength." .....

II Corinthians 4:7 - But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.

Dear God, thank You for Your love and joy and peace. Thank You for filling me with Your presence. Thank You for using my weaknesses to show You power. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

God Meets Us

II Chronicles 16:9 - "For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him. You have done foolishly in this, for from now on you will have wars."

Psalm 23:2-3 - He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Zechariah 2:13 - Be silent, all flesh, before the Lord, for he has roused himself from his holy dwelling.

Dear God, this world is so noisy. It is so noisy and so busy that sometimes I find it hard to commune with you. Please God I seek You even now. Thank You for meeting me halfway. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

In God You Have Everything

II Corinthians 4:17-18 - For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Ephesians 3:20-21 - Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Dear God, this world would have me thinking that You don't care. But the truth is that You do. You will meet every need because You know what I need and You know how to fulfill the need. The things that are seen are temporary. So the GOP disaster that is looming because of their hatred is temporary per Your words. The things that are unseen are eternal. My home in heaven will be eternal. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

God Has Promised to Meet All Your Needs

II Corinthians 4:17-18 - For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Philippians 4:19 - And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Dear God, it is hard to thank You for the trials You allow me to go through in life, but I want to do Your will and practice being more thankful for those trials so I can learn better how to trust that You are working in and through them and in my life and bringing me peace in the middle of suffering. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

God Wants Constant Communion with You

Proverbs 3:6 - In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

I Thessalonians 5:16-18 - Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Dear God, forgive me when I am tempted to let my schedule or to do list dictate my life as opposed to resting in Your presence and allowing You to take the reigns. Cluttered days are anxious days, but they don't have to be if I will just keep trust You. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
