Grow Strong in Your Weakness

Proverbs 3:5 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

Isaiah 40:28-31 - Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchabke. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

James 4:13-15 - Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit"–yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that."

Dear God, thank You for making me fragile enough that I have no choice but to lean on You and to trust You. Do I wish I was stronger? Sure. Who wouldn't? But do I need to be stronger? Not really. You clearly have made me stronger through faith in You which I would rather have than my own strength. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

There Is No Place That You Cannot Find Him

Genesis 16:13-14 - So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, "You are a God of seeing," for she said, "Truly here I have seen him who looks after me." Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; it lies between Kadesh and Bered.

Psalm 139:7-10 - Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there! If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.

Zephaniah 3:17 - The lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Dear God, thank You for always being there even when I cannot feel You. Thank You for singing over me with Your song and for Your love and guidance. Surely I can never flee from Your presence! Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Demonstrate Your Trust by Sitting Quietly in His Presence

Proverbs 16:3 - Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

Luke 12:22-25 - And he said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on.mfor life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?"

Ephesians 6:12 - For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

Dear God, help me to remember to put You first each day so that in my time with You I can be refreshed and energized to face whatever the day may bring-good or bad. Thank You for taking care of me. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Grow Strong in the Light of His Presence

Psalm 4:6-8 - There are many who say, "Who will show us some good? Lift up the light of your face upon us, O Lord!" You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound. In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Revelation 21:23 - And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.

Dear God, thank You for glimpses of heaven during my times with You. Tiny glimpses of the radiance that heaven will be. They are refreshing glimpses. Glory. Radiance. Refreshment. Joy. Hope. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Spend Time with God

Psalm 63:5-8 - My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food, and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips, when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night; for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.

Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Dear God, thank You for upholding me with Your right hand. Thank You for shining a light on the oath I need to take. Thank You for being there even when I feel like I am being derailed by the day-to-day confusion and chaos of this world and the mundane. Help me to never get bored or slip into a monotonous routine. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Trust Him in the Midst of a Messy Day

Psalm 105:4 - Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!

John 14:27 - "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."

John 16:33 - "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

Dear God, thank You for peace sufficient enough to help me not get bogged down by the turmoils of this world. Thank You for constantly being there even when I may be in the midst of confusion and chaos. Thank You for overcoming this world. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

He Is the Eternal I Am

Exodus 3:14 - God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And he said, "Say this to the people of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

Psalm 25:14-15 - The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant. My eyes are ever toward the Lord, for he will pluck my feet out of the net.

I Corinthians 3:16 - Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?

Dear God, help me focus on You especially during our quiet times together. When I get distracted, help me to remember to call Your name so You can refocus me on You. Thank You for being there always. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

God Is All Around You

Psalm 139:1-4 - O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O. Lord, you know it altogether.

II Corinthians 5:21 - For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Ephesians 2:13 - But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Dear God, I not only want You to live in me but also through me. I want people to see You when they look at me. You searched me. You know me. You cleaned me with the blood of Jesus. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Entrust Your Loved Ones to Me

Genesis 22:9-12 - When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built the altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son. But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, abraham!" And he said, "Here am I." He said, "Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know I that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me."

Exodus 33:14 - And he said, "My presence will go with you, and it will give you rest."

Ephesians 3:20-21 - Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Dear God, I give over to You my friends and family who I may be holding dear to my heart. Bless them and protect them as You also bless me and protect me. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Trust Me and Do Not Be Afraid

Isaiah 12:2 - "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."

Romans 8:1-2 - There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

James 4:7 - Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Dear God, thank You for judging me not guilty. Whenever I speak against injustice and then get attacked for it, I have to remember that You already judged me and that they have a personal heart problem going on deep down inside of them that makes them act with such hatred and bitterness. There is no condemnation for those who truly belong to You. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Wait with Him for a While

I Kings 8:22-24 - Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven, and said, "O Lord, Gos of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above or on earth beneath, keeping covenant and showing steadfast love to your servants who walk before you with all their heart, who have kept with your servant David my father what you declared to him. You spoke with your mouth, and with your hand have fulfilled it this day."

Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Dear God, sometimes people look me with sideways glances because I am different. Thank You for choosing me to be different. At the end of the day, I have to ask myself whether I treated others with the fruit of the Spirit or if I gave them bad apples. Help me to always act with the fruit of the Spirit. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

He Is a God Who Heals

Matthew 7:7 - "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you."

II Corinthians 12:7-9 - So to keep me from being too elated by the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a third was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from being too elated. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

James 4:2 - You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask.

Dear God, please heal me today from this month and a half long deep seated ear canal, ear drum, Eustachian tube infection and the cold I have managed to catch. I have a special event to attend Saturday evening and so not want to disappoint anyone by being under the weather. Also, God, if it is Your will, please bring Tom and I to reconciliation. You heal and mend all kinds of brokenness. And it is never too late for Your healing power. Thank You God for healing. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

He Continually Calls You to Closeness with Him

Psalm 21:6 - For you make him most blessed forever; you make him glad with the joy of your presence.

Psalm 37:7 - Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries evil devices!

Psalm 131:2 - But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Dear God, if waiting on Your presence keeps me connected to You and aware of all that You offer to me, then it want to spend the rest of my life waiting on You. Thank You for joy and for grace. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Expect to Encounter Adversity in Your Life

Psalm 91:1 - He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

Revelation 19:1-2 - After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying out, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, for his judgments are true and just; for he has judged the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality, and has avenged on her the blood of his servants."

Dear God, if living an easy life means possibly forgetting that I need You, then I don't want to live an easy life. Do I wish things were less difficult than they are and have been? Sure. But clearly You have purposed me for so much more than that. Today, I want to lay at Your feet my double ear and Eustachian tube infection for healing. And thank You for placing me on the path You have. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Find Him in the Midst of the Storm

Isaiah 43:1 - But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine."

Philippians 2:9-11 - Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Dear God, thank You for being there even when I cannot feel You during the storms of life. Thank You for hearing my voice in the middle of the storms. Every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Meet Him in Early Morning Splendor

Psalm 27:4 - One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire (meditate) in his temple.

Isaiah 40:30-31 - Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Dear God, thank You for desiring me to desire spending time with You. Renew my strength and renew my mind as I spend time with You each and every day. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

He Is the God of All Time and All That Is

Psalm 32:6 - Therefore let everyone who is godly offer a prayer to you at a time when you may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him.

Psalm 55:17 - Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan, and he hears my voice.

Psalm 62:8 - Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.

Dear God, it is so easy to trust You when things are going well. But what I need to learn is to still trust You when things are not going as well. You will heal me from this Eustachian tube infection. You will provide for my family financially. You will help direct my doctors to act instead of just waiting and seeing as my immune system crashes. I may be in the midst of a storm right now, but You are still there. Whether or not I see You or feel You. Autism is not a punishment. It is a blessing. Because You sometimes intend for us to go through things so we can bless others through our experiences. Thank You. In Jesus Name' Amen!

He Is Yours for All Eternity

Psalm 48:12-14 - Walk about Zion, go around her, number her towers, consider well her ramparts, go through her citadels, that you may tell the next generation that this is God, our God forever and ever. He will guide us forever.

Psalm 102:25-27 - Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end.

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Revelation 1:8 - "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."

Dear God, thank You for being with me through all time even during those times when I struggle to feel You there, and especially during those times when I struggle to feel You there! In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Learn to Enjoy Life More

Matthew 1:23 - "Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel" (which means, God with us).

John 10:10-11 - "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."

Dear God, I want to enjoy life more. I want to trust You so much that I basically float through the day because I am secure in Your presence and bursting with joy and peace. Thank You for laying down Your life for me. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Come to Him When You Are Weak and Weary

Isaiah 42:2-3 - He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice, or make it heard in the street; a bruised reed he will not break, and a faintly burning wick he will not quench; he will faithfully bring forth justice.

Isaiah 54:10 - "For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed," says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Romans 8:26 - Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Dear God, although I do not understand why You would choose to bless me with and through challenges, I embrace the path You have placed me on because it is just that - my path, my journey. No one else can understand everything about my oath and my journey on it just as I can never understand everything about someone else's path or journey. Help me as I lean more on You during this time. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Come to Him

John 6:37 - "All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out."

Ephesians 3:14-19 - For this reason I now my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to to he riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith–that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Revelation 22:17 - The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come." And let the one who hears say, "Come." And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.

Dear God, help me to always remember to come to You so that I may experience Your great love for me even when I may not feel loved by the world. It is on the days that I don't feel loved by the world especially that I especially need to come to You to experience Your deep love. Thank You for loving me in such a way that I cannot fathom it. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Relax in His Healing, Holy Presence

Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Ephesians 5:15-16 - Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of time, because the days are evil.

Dear God, thank You for allowing me to spend time with You, learning to trust You more each day, and as a result experience more of Your peace in my life. Please God, today, please heal my ears from the congestion and the inflammation that is threatening to steal more of my hearing. Please take away the pain. And please continue to provide financially for my family as we go through the next step after the initial sleep study. God, so many things went wrong during that sleep study that it doubt the integrity of their report as I reflect on the potential cause of the headache and the fact that I had a severe asthma attack. Please be with us as we find out from the dentist whether I will be able to do the oral appliance and when I might be able to do so. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Wear His Robe of Righteousness with Ease

Isaiah 61:10 - I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

II Corinthians 5:21 - For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Ephesians 4:20-24 - But that is not the way you learned Christ!–assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to out off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to out on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Dear God, thank You for the glorious robe of righteousness that You have specially designed just for me. Help me to remember that You have created it for me and help me to relax in it. Help me to correct my behavior when it less than desirable and unbecoming of the robe of righteousness. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

He Speaks to You from Deepest Heaven

Psalm 42:7 - Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me.

Psalm 95:1-2 - Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

Matthew 7:24-25 - "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall."

Dear God, help me to make a joyful noise to You. Help me to build on a solid rock so I can stand firm in You. Forgive me when I fall. Thank You for all You do for me even in those times when I do not feel You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Understanding Will Never Bring You Peace

Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Romans 5:1 - Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

II Thessalonians 3:16 - Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.

Dear God, never will understanding bring me peace. As soon as I begin to understand something, another thing comes at me that demands understanding. Life is just full of problems demanding to be understood. And it doesn't give me peace. So today, I turn the problems over to You and ask for Your peace. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

When Things Seem to Be Going All Wrong

Job 13:15 - Though he slay me, I will hope in him; yet I will argue my ways to his face.

Psalm 18:33 - He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights.

Habakkuk 3:17-19 - Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the food and there be no herd on the stalls, yet it will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places.

Dear God, today I just simply turn all my fears and worries and anxieties over to You to work out and through ahead of me and my appointments coming up as a result of the findings of the sleep study. What can I do by worrying about things now? Nothing. So by turning things over to You, I release the pressure from me and put my trust in You. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Sit Quietly in His Presence

Psalm 37:7 - Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!

Romans 8:16-17 - The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs–heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

I Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Dear God, help me as I sit and rest quietly in Your presence. Yes, there are challenges ahead of me, but they are inconsequential to the strength You have in store for me during my time with You. May I learn that resting in You is better than rushing about. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Hold His Hand

John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Colossians 4:2 - Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

Dear God, help me not lose focus on the path You have laid ahead of me. Help me today as I struggle with the pending sleep study this evening. Comfort me and ease the pain that I will endure being hooked to all the wires they will have attached to me. Help me focus my thoughts on You. Thank You for everything that You have prepared for me along the way. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Watch Your Words Diligently

Proverbs 12:18 - There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Ephesians 4:29 - Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

James 1:19-20 - Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness that God requires.

Dear God, help me when my words are wanting to be unbecoming and less than glorifying whether against a person or against You, whether from hurt or anger, or whatever may be in my head. Help my words to be more glorifying and more edifying. Help my words be more constructive. And forgive me when my words are less than honorable. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Bring God the Sacrifice of Your Time

Psalm 21:6 - For you make him most blessed forever; you make him glad with the joy of your presence.

Psalm 103:11-12 - For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

John 7:38 - "Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'"

Dear God, time with You is definitely precious time. And I apologize when I take time for granted and do not spend as much time with You on some days as I do on other days. I apologize when I hurt You or our time together. Thank You for forgiveness and for blessing me. Please God heal my ears right now as they still feel full from the inflammation in them. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Nothing Can Separate You From the Love of God

Joshua 1:5 - No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.

Isaiah 49:15-16 - "Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me."

Romans 8:38-39 - For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Dear God, nothing can separate me from Your love. You will never leave me nor forsake me. You have engraved me on the palms of Your hands. Oh, how wonderful to be cared for and loved so much that You would put a constant reminder of me on Yourself so that You will always be there loving me even when I feel defeated and beaten by this world. Thank You for that love. In Jesus Name, Amen!
