I Will Give You Strength

"God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places." - Habakkuk 3:19

"And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:19

"Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!" - Psalm 96:6-7

Dear God, 

You the Lord God give me my strength. I really can't handle everything on my own, not as much as I wish I could. And I don't have to either. I do need You. Oh God, give me strength just to make it this week. Give me strength to make it through next week. Help me to feel better. Keep providing for the least of these, particularly with regard to healthcare.

You Belong to Me!

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, you are mine." - Isaiah 43:1 

"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:38-39

"Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me." - Isaiah 49:16

Dear God, 

You have called me by name. I am Yours. No matter how alone I feel at times, I still belong to You. You bought me with Your blood and paid for my sins. Nothing can separate me from Your love. You know me and You know my name. You always speak to me by name. You have written my name on Your hand. Thank You for love so great that You know me by name.

Worship Me

"Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness." - Psalm 29:2

"For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known." - I Corinthians 13:12

And one called to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hoots; the whole earth Is full of his glory!" - Isaiah 6:3

Dear God, 

I should worship You because You are holy and Your holiness is beautiful. The many beautiful sunsets and flowers and even people are not perfectly holy like You are. I cannot understand the beauty of Your holiness right now as I can only see a part of it. In heaven, I will be able to see all of it. I should join with the Angels to sing of Your holiness. Worshipping You changes me into more of the person You created me to be. I should worship You because of who You are. Reading Your Word can help me to know You better and praise You well. When I understand more of who You are, I am changed and You are glorified. And that is the most beautiful worship. God, help me grow into that person You want me to be. Help me to continue in my advocacy for the least of these and not lose focus on You and Your guidance. You are holy and You will help Your children. You will not let monsters on D.C. harm them.

I Will Help You

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." - Psalm 46:1 

"For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lorx your God did tot eh Red Sea, which he dried up for us until we passed over, so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever." - Joshua 4:23-24

"Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen." - Jude 24-25

Dear God, 

You are my help in times of trouble. Your presence is always with me and You are very present in times of trouble. I am part of Your royal family. You will take care of me.

The Light of the World

And again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." - John 8:12

"But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day." - Proverbs 4:18

"And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever." - Revelation 22:5

Dear God, 

You are the light of the world. I will never live in darkness. I will have the light that gives life. Your light goes before me showing me the path You want me to follow. That path will one day lead me to heaven because I love You. Your light will shine in all its glory in heaven. In heaven, there will never be night. Thank You for the light of life.

Know That You Need Me

"You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory." - Psalm 73:24

Dear God, 

The poor in spirit are blessed as the kingdom of heaven belongs to them. When I know I need You, I should be happy be asks it means I understand that You are what I need. I have been saved by grace through faith. These are both gifts from You. Thank You for some of the best gifts I can possibly have.

Waiting in Hope

"Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and our shield." - Psalm 33:20

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age." - Matthew 28:18-20

"But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. I trust in the steadfast love of God forever and ever." - Psalm 52:8

Dear God,

You are my help and my shield. How am I waiting for You? Am I doing so in a tantrum? Or am I watching to see what You will do? You protect me. You are always ready to help me. All I need to do is ask. God, You did it again yesterday. You answered my prayer. The battle over the healthcare issue for the least of these is not over. The battle for good in our country is not over. But You showed Yourself again in a huge way yesterday. And it was really out of my hands. Advocacy organizations are saying congratulations, you all did this, but I feel that in some ways that I was powerless. And that all I could do was wait and hope for the best. And You did it. Thank You for that. Please keep doing that. The next battle is the budget. The budget of hate from Trump that threatens everything domestic.
