Consider Yourself Blessed When in Need

II Corinthians 12:9 - But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

James 1:2-3 - Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.

Dear God, thank You for perfecting Your power in and me despite of my weakness. In my time of need, I am forced to choose reliance on You or trying to make things happen on my own. Trying to make things happen on my own doesn't always work, so I will choose to rely on You. While others consider autism a weakness, I will consider it a strength because YOU work through me in spite of my autism. While being medically fragile can be considered a weakness, it is a strength when YOU work through me. So I will thank You for my weaknesses knowing that whatever I lack, You will work through me regardless and fill the need accordingly. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Let God Teach You Thankfulness

Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.

Hebrews 12:28-29 - Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

Dear God, thankfulness. Not necessarily the easiest attitude, but yet so simple to do. I am thankful each day I have the chance to wake up and have a new day. I am thankful for new opportunities to make a difference or to help someone. I am thankful for new breaths. I am thankful for new things to do. Today, I am thankful that we have a vet who cares about our furbabies. I am anxious about taking baby girl in. But she has a bump on her head. But I am thankful she will get quality care. Be with me today. Thank You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Choices about the Day

Psalm 34:8 - Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Lamentations 3:22-26 - The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him." The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

Dear God, forgive me for being tempted to draw a mental map of my day. Help me lean more on Your presence and rest in that. Thank You for equipping me for what my day holds. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Come to God

Isaiah 40:29-31 - He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not be faint.

John 17:20-23 - "I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me."

Dear God, I come to You wih empty hands held out expecting Your blessings and provisions. Thank You for caring about me and my family. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Welcome Problems

Psalm 89:15-16 - Blessed are the people who know the festal shout, who walk, O Lord, in the light of your face, who exult in your name all the day and in your righteousness are exalted.

II Corinthians 4:16-18 - So we do not lose heart. Though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Dear God, help me to remember that most of the problems life throws at me are just momentary afflictions in the grand scheme of life altogether. I still pray that one day Tom and I can have a reconciliation where the whole truth is revealed to both of us. But the conflict really is pale in comparison to what the future holds. How do I handle things going forward? Do I lash out at the problems or do I trust You? Thank You for lessons in life. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Make God Your Focal Point

Psalm 102:26-27 - They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end.

Hebrews 12:1-2 - Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of throne of God.

Dear God, focal point. You are a focal point in my busy life. Like a ballerina or tap dancer who has to fix their eyes on a focal point so they do not get dizzy from their twists and turns, I need to keep my focus on You so I don't get dizzy when my circumstances try to make me dizzy and confused. Thank You for training me in Your ways and teaching me how to have more balance in my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Rest in the Stillness of the Presence of God

Psalm 46:10 - "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"

Romans 8:1 - There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Dear God, thank You for being with me. Thank You for working on strengthening my trust. Thank You for giving me moments where I have to choose to trust You. Help me to not get so wrapped around planning everything that I forget to trust You and end up being afraid. Thank You for not condemning me when I do. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
