Hold on to Me

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you." - I Peter 5:6-7

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." - Matthew 28:18

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them, and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 18:1-3

Dear God,

You care for me. You are always thinking about me and watching over me. You never forget about me. I am only human and I do sometimes forget You when I am feeling weak or tired or scared. I should forgive myself when that happens instead of beating myself up for it. I need to give all my worries to You. You can help me because all power in heaven and on earth is given to You. God, I release to You my worries and fears about the testing I need to undergo today. I release to You my worries and fears about what the republicans are trying to do to destroy healthcare. I am Your child. You are sovereign. Your providence will reign in this situation.

Thank You.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen

Come to Me with Courage

"Be strong, and let your heart take courage." - Psalm 31:24

"But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death." - Revelation 21:8

"Behold, the Lord God comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young." - Isaiah 40:10-11

Dear God,

I am to be strong and brave. I am to put my hope in You. God, after reading these scriptures today, I want to say that the message in Isaiah and in Revelation today are comforting. You will guard me and there is punishment for the lying republicans ahead. You will make sure I still have what I need when it comes to healthcare and You will not let them destroy that for the least of these. You will be with me even in the days ahead as we move to more testing for this rare disease that is killing me. Testing and treatment for both of them. God, help me to continue to be brave and courageous and to never lose hope in You.

Thank You.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen
