The Higher You Climb

And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. - Matthew 17:1-2

"God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places." - Habakkuk 3:19

"But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself." - Philippians 3:20-21

Dear God,

This mountain of life, this winding mountain with all its edges and rocky terrain, I am glad to be climbing with You. Help me to never give up.

Thank You.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen

The Climb

"God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places." - Habakkuk 3:19

"Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory." - Psalm 73:23-24

In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called to another and said, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!" - Isaiah 6:1-3

Dear God,

Life can be like climbing a mountain! There are so many different paths to choose. While it may seem impossible to climb this mountain of life, You are always with me holding my hand to guide me and lead me safely on the steep mountains. It is both easy and hard. You have gifts for me along the way. These gifts are to remind me that You are with me.

Thank You.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen

In Training

"Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted." - Hebrews 12:3

"But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself." - Philippians 3:20-21

Thus says the Lord: "The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest, the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you." - Jeremiah 31:2-3

Dear God,

Life is a long journey up a mountain that can sometimes be hard to keep going and keep trying to do the right thing. You are training me to take one step after another, even when it's tough. Teach me to find You even in the middle of a struggle.

Thank You.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen
